Roller Garage Doors

Roller garage doors are one of the most popular choices for homeowners across Lincolnshire. They work by rolling up into a compact drum above the opening, which means you lose virtually no ceiling space inside the garage. This makes them ideal if you use your garage for storage or as a workshop.

Every roller door we install comes with electric operation as standard. The insulated aluminium slats provide excellent thermal performance and a smooth, quiet action. Because the door rolls vertically, there is no forward swing onto your driveway, so you can park right up to the door.

Roller doors are available in a wide range of colours and finishes, including woodgrain effects. They suit most garage openings and are especially good where headroom is limited.

Sectional Garage Doors

Sectional garage doors are built from horizontal panels that rise vertically and then slide back along the ceiling on tracks. This design provides an outstanding seal against draughts, rain and dust, making them the best option for maximum insulation.

The multi-point locking system on sectional doors delivers very high security. Double-skinned steel panels with foam insulation cores keep your garage warm and quiet. If your garage is attached to your home, a sectional door can make a real difference to your energy bills.

We supply sectional doors in a huge range of designs, from contemporary smooth finishes to traditional panelled styles with windows. They are available in standard and made-to-measure sizes.

Side Hinged Garage Doors

Side hinged garage doors open outwards from a central or offset pivot, just like traditional barn doors. They are a practical choice if you use your garage frequently for pedestrian access, because you can open one leaf without disturbing the other.

These doors work well for garages that double as utility rooms, workshops or storage spaces where you need quick, easy access without waiting for an electric motor. That said, electric operators are available as an option if you prefer automated opening.

Side hinged doors are available in steel, timber and GRP (fibreglass). Steel versions offer the best value, while timber doors suit period properties. They require side clearance when opening, so they are best suited to garages that do not open directly onto a narrow path.

Up and Over Garage Doors

Up and over garage doors remain the most common type in the UK and offer the most affordable entry point. The single panel tilts outward and then slides up into the garage on a canopy or retractable mechanism.

They are available in a vast choice of designs and materials, including steel, timber and GRP. Steel up and over doors are the most budget-friendly option and come in dozens of panel designs and colours. If you are replacing an old door on a like-for-like basis, this is often the simplest and most cost-effective route.

Keep in mind that up and over doors swing outward as they open, so you need around 1.5 metres of clear driveway space in front of the door. Canopy-gear doors can be automated with a boom operator, though retractable-gear versions are better suited to automation.

Electric Garage Doors

Electric garage doors remove the effort of manual lifting and give you the convenience of remote-control operation. You can open and close your door from inside your car, which is especially welcome in bad weather or when arriving home after dark.

Most modern electric garage doors include safety features such as auto-reverse sensors and manual override in case of a power cut. Roller and sectional doors come with electric operation as standard, while up and over and side hinged doors can often be retrofitted with a motor.

We supply operators from leading manufacturers and handle all the electrical connections as part of the installation. Smartphone control is available on many systems, allowing you to open your door from anywhere using an app.

Insulated Garage Doors

Insulated garage doors use double-skinned construction with a foam core to minimise heat loss and reduce noise. If your garage is attached to your house, or if you use it as a gym, workshop or hobby room, insulation makes a significant difference to comfort and running costs.

Roller and sectional doors both offer excellent insulation as standard. The foam-filled slats or panels create an effective thermal barrier that keeps warmth in during winter and heat out during summer. Many homeowners notice an immediate improvement in the temperature of rooms above or next to the garage.

Insulated doors also tend to be quieter and more robust than single-skin alternatives. The additional weight and rigidity improves security and gives a more solid, premium feel when the door operates.

Common Questions About Garage Doors

How much does a new garage door cost?
Garage door prices vary by type and specification. Up and over doors start from around £700, side hinged from £900, roller doors from £1,200 and sectional doors from £1,500. These are guide prices -- your final quote will depend on the size, material, finish and any automation you choose. We provide fixed-price quotes after a free survey.
Are insulated garage doors worth it?
Yes, especially if your garage is attached to your home or you use it as a workshop. Insulated garage doors (typically roller or sectional types) reduce heat loss, cut draughts and lower noise from outside. If you heat your home efficiently, an insulated garage door helps keep that warmth in. The extra cost is usually recovered through energy savings within a few years.
Can I automate my existing garage door?
In many cases, yes. Most up and over and side hinged garage doors can be fitted with an electric operator. However, the door needs to be in good condition and properly balanced. During a free survey, we will assess whether automation is suitable for your current door or whether a new automated door would be a better investment.
How long does garage door installation take?
A straightforward replacement typically takes half a day. If structural work is needed, such as adjusting the opening or fitting a new frame, it may take a full day. We will confirm the expected timeframe when we provide your quote.
Do you offer finance on garage doors?
Yes, we offer flexible finance options to spread the cost of your new garage door. Ask us for details when you request a quote, and we will explain the plans available to you.
